Hatshepsut (King Princess)
Small-scale articulated puppet, 2021
Film-used puppet from Infinite West
A regal figure rendered in gold and lapis, this articulated puppet channels the authority and mystery of Hatshepsut herself—immortalised with her ceremonial beard, echoing the historical shift in her statuary as she asserted her power in increasingly masculine form. Originally created for and used in the Infinite West film project, she carries the quiet command of a ruler who rewrote her own story. Inspired by The Woman Who Would Be King, this piece honours her legacy of self-determination and strategic brilliance.
This sculpture is an opportunity to own a physical fragment of the Infinite West universe — a handmade, screen-relic that carries the energy, labour, and imagination embedded in the stop-motion process. *in her final state she is wearing her beard*
